We had planned to hold a Happy Hour in the museum as our final event for yet another disrupted year.  Unfortunately, Covid 19 restrictions within the ANU have made this impossible, so we are inviting you to zoom in for the short talk that was to be delivered at the event.

We are pleased to welcome back Dr Terhi Nurmikko-Fuller who will speak about the tablet inscribed in cuneiform script, from the Third Dynasty of Ur, 21^st century BC, located in the writing section of the museum.

Dr Terhi Nurmikko-Fuller is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Humanities at the Centre for Digital Humanities Research at the Australian National University. She examines the potential of Linked Open Data to support and diversify scholarship in the Humanities, and her publications cover musicological information, library metadata, the narrative in ancient Mesopotamian literary compositions, and the role of gamification and informal online environments in education. She has created 3D digital models of cuneiform tables from the British Museum, carved boab nuts from the National Museum of Australia, animal skulls from the School of Archaeology and Anthropology at the ANU, and the Black Rod of the Australian Senate.

The zoom session will also be an opportunity for us to tell you about developments and some planned events for 2022. We do hope that these can go ahead on the ANU campus.
